Gracelyn Center for Excellence in Education

Terms of Service

Last updated: July 6, 2026

Welcome to the Gracelyn Center for Excellence in Education (“Gracelyn Center for Excellence,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a professional development division of Gracelyn University, operating the platform at https://excellence.gracelyn.edu (the “Platform”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Platform. By creating an account, enrolling in a micro credential, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. The Service

The Platform is an AI-native micro credential service for educators. We take university-level courses and deliver them as stackable one-credit micro credentials through a custom learning management system. Your learning experience is powered by artificial intelligence, including AI instructors that grade your work, an AI success coach that guides your journey, and simulated AI community members that participate in discussions alongside real learners (see Section 9, “Artificial Intelligence Disclosure”).

2. Accounts & Registration

You must provide accurate, complete information when you register and keep it up to date. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account. The Platform is intended for educators and other adult learners; it is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information (see our Privacy Policy).

3. Payments & Pricing

Micro credentials and bundles are offered under one or more pricing models: individual per-credential purchases, monthly or annual subscriptions, and institutional per-seat plans. Prices are shown before you complete a purchase. Payments are processed securely by our third-party payment providers, Stripe and PayPal; we do not store your full card number. You authorize us and our processors to charge your selected payment method for the amounts shown at checkout, including any applicable taxes.

4. Refund Policy

We offer a 3-day full refund window. If you request a refund within three (3) days of an eligible purchase, we will refund the full amount to your original payment method, automatically. After the three-day window closes, purchases are non-refundable except where required by law. Refund eligibility is shown on your receipt and in your account.

5. Subscriptions & Cancellation

Monthly subscriptions renew automatically each month and may be cancelled at any time; your access continues through the end of the current billing period, and you will not be charged again. Annual subscriptions reflect a twelve-month commitment billed up front or as agreed at checkout; annual plans do not renew into a new commitment without notice, and the 3-day refund window in Section 4 applies to the initial charge. You can manage or cancel your subscription from your account.

6. Community Conduct

Our learning communities are places for encouragement and growth. Before posting, you accept a community conduct agreement. We operate a three-strike policy: violations receive gracious warnings, and a third violation results in removal from active participation. Removed members retain read-only access to the community. We may moderate, edit, or remove content, and suspend accounts, to keep communities safe and welcoming.

7. Text Messaging (SMS) Terms & Consent

By registering, you consent to receive educational notifications via email and SMS. Message frequency varies. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.

We use SMS to send account, course, and coaching notifications such as enrollment confirmations, deadline reminders, coaching check-ins, and completion celebrations. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase. You may opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message; we will send a single confirmation and then stop sending texts. For help, reply HELP or contact us. For help, reply HELP or email support@excellence.gracelyn.edu. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

8. Your Content & License

You retain ownership of the work you submit (for example, written assignment responses and discussion posts). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, process, display, and use your submissions to operate the Platform, including AI grading and coaching, quality monitoring, and improvement of the service. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit the content you post.

9. Artificial Intelligence Disclosure

Core parts of your experience are delivered by artificial intelligence. AI instructors evaluate and grade your submissions and generate feedback; an AI success coach provides guidance, messages, and recommendations; and some community participants are AI personas that post and reply alongside human learners. AI-generated feedback and grades are produced by automated systems and may contain errors. If you believe a grade or response is incorrect, you may request human review through customer support.

10. Intellectual Property

The Platform and its content, including course materials, videos, text, graphics, logos, badges, certificates, and software, are owned by or licensed to the Gracelyn Center for Excellence and Gracelyn University and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access and use purchased content for your own personal, non-commercial professional development. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, or create derivative works from our content without our written permission.

11. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or complete. Micro credentials are professional development offerings and do not guarantee any employment, licensure, or certification outcome.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Gracelyn Center for Excellence, Gracelyn University, and our affiliates and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Platform will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located there for any dispute that is not subject to informal resolution.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
